MJ Hobbs is a 62 year old always single Christ following woman. She has lived life in rural Africa for the past 20 years. Her greatest joy has been being grafted into a local family, able to simply be with them through daily joys and deep sorrows. Ten children daily run in and out of her house, learning, and being family. She also mentors young women she has known for years, encouraging and helping them stay in school.

Her “before” life was excellent training for the unpredictable constant change of overseas life. As a child she went to 13 schools, worked in many jobs, always teaching, counseling, and mentoring.

MJ’s faith rests secure in God’s Hesed: unfailing love and tender lovingkindness. She has experienced deep grief and longs to share the joys of hope in the midst of unapologetic brokenness.
